Castor Oil (Boiled)

(18 customer reviews)

Everyone talks about cold-pressed castor oil like it’s the gold standard. Pure, unrefined, chemical-free, it all sounds perfect, right? But here’s the catch. Cold-pressed castor oil keeps ricin, a toxin naturally found in castor seeds. No label tells you that. The oil’s fine for external use, but ingesting it? Risky.

That’s why Vrudhi boiled castor oil exists. It’s made using the Traditional Boiling Method, the same one your grandmother knew. Castor seeds are boiled in water, allowing the ricin to break down and separate from the oil. What’s left? Pure, safe oil, rich in nutrients, free from toxins, and gentle enough for daily use.

Castor seeds naturally contain a compound known as ricin, which in its raw form is quite toxic. Traditional boiling of castor seeds is a time tested process that neutralises the compound before extraction of the oil. Coldpressed methods are popular for many oils but do not address this aspect directly for castor seeds.

Vrudhi follows the boiling method not as a marketing choice, but as a safety first practice rooted in traditional oil preparation that results in an oil that is gentle, safe and more suitable for regular external use.

Whether it’s for hair, skin, gut health, or even eye care, this is castor oil the way Ayurveda intended.

What makes it truly special
  • Ricin-Free, Worry-Free. Cold-pressed castor oil retains ricin, a natural toxin. Vrudhi Boiled Castor Oil doesn’t. It’s safe, edible, and perfect for daily use.
  • Traditional Method, Modern Comfort. Made using the Traditional Boiling Method, just like Ayurveda recommends. No hexane, no chemicals, just pure oil.
  • One Oil. Many Uses. Hair feeling dry? Skin needs moisture? Constipation bothering you? One bottle handles it all—hair, skin, gut, even eye care.
  • Nourishes Without Nasties. No refining, no deodorizing, no bleaching. Just pure goodness, ready for you and your family.
  • Gentle Yet Powerful. Moisturizes, heals, and strengthens—without the side effects of regular cold-pressed castor oil.
Struggling with these everyday issues? Here’s how this helps
  • Worried about toxins in castor oil? Cold-pressed oil keeps ricin. This doesn’t. The boiling process removes it, making the oil safe for internal use.
  • Struggling with hair fall? This oil nourishes follicles, strengthens roots, and stimulates hair growth.
  • Dealing with bloating or constipation? Vrudhi Boiled Castor Oil works as a natural laxative, cleansing the gut without harsh side effects.
  • Dark circles, dry skin, joint pain? This oil hydrates, soothes, and heals, thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties.
What’s inside? The ingredients that set it apart
  • Castor Seeds: The soul of this oil. But not cold-pressed. Boiled the traditional way, so the ricin breaks down and separates, leaving behind pure, edible oil.
  • Water: Yes, water matters. Boiling the seeds in water ensures the toxins float away, while the oil stays rich, nutrient-dense, and safe.
  • Nothing Else. No hexane, no solvents, no refining, no bleaching. Just castor seeds, boiled, pressed, and filtered—the way Ayurveda intended.

What makes Vrudhi Castor oil unique

There’s castor oil. And then there’s boiled castor oil. The difference? Ricin. Cold-pressed castor oil, even the fancy ones labeled pure and organic, still contains ricin, a toxic protein found naturally in castor seeds. It’s why cold-pressed oil is never recommended for internal use. It’s safe for your hair, sure. But for your gut? Not really.

Vrudhi boiled castor oil solves this. Castor seeds are boiled in water, allowing the ricin to break down and separate from the oil. The result? Pure, safe, toxin-free oil, rich in ricinoleic acid, the very compound that gives castor oil its healing power. No cold-pressed brand can match this level of purity. This isn’t just castor oil. This is boiled castor oil, made the way Ayurveda intended, safe enough to consume, and gentle enough for daily wellness.

Benefits of our Castor oil

  • Can I really consume this? Yes. Boiled castor oil is edible, unlike cold-pressed oils that retain toxins.
  • Will it help with digestion? Absolutely. A teaspoon before bed can cleanse the gut, ease bloating, and support gut health.
  • Is it safe for kids and elders? Yes. The boiling method removes ricin, making it safe for all ages.
  • Does it work for hair growth? Definitely. Regular use boosts hair strength, reduces breakage, and promotes healthy growth.
  • Can I use it on skin? Of course. It moisturizes deeply, heals dryness, and calms inflammation.
  • Will it clog pores? Not at all. This pure, boiled oil is light, absorbent, and skin-friendly.
  • Safe for eye care? Yes. It’s often used to cool eyes, reduce floaters, and support vision clarity.
  • Worth switching from cold-pressed? If you value purity, safety, and Ayurvedic tradition, there’s no question.

Why is the boiling method important for castor oil compared to cold-pressed extraction?

Castor seeds naturally contain a compound called ricin. Traditional boiling helps neutralise this compound before oil extraction, making the oil milder and safer for regular use. Cold-pressed extraction does not involve this neutralisation step, which is why boiling has historically been preferred for castor oil preparation.

What makes Vrudhi Boiled Castor Oil different from regular castor oil?

It’s the traditional boiling method. Castor seeds are boiled in water before oil extraction, following a safety-first process rooted in traditional oil preparation. This results in an oil that is gentler and more suitable for regular use compared to cold-pressed alternatives.

Is it safe for internal consumption?

Traditionally, boiled castor oil has been used in very small quantities under guidance. We recommend using it primarily for external applications unless advised otherwise by a qualified professional.

Can it help with hair growth?

Yes. The thick, nutrient-rich oil helps nourish the scalp, strengthen roots, and support healthier-looking hair over time.

Is it good for joint pain and stiffness?

Boiled castor oil is commonly used for massage. Its rich texture supports lubrication of joints and helps ease stiffness, making movement feel more comfortable.

Is this oil safe for babies and the elderly?

When used externally, boiled castor oil is considered mild and gentle. It has traditionally been used for massage and skin care across age groups, including babies and the elderly.

Vrudhi Castor Oil is truly a boon. Its versatility is remarkable. Just two drops on the navel at night effectively alleviates constipation. Applying two drops around the eyes promotes good sleep and reduces dark circles. Additionally, using two drops on the eyebrows helps them grow thicker. Highly recommend!
